One of Colima's most famous designers, Macías is currently living in Comala, north of the state capital of Colima. From his studio, he produces exquisite jewelry in gold and silver, designed around precious stones and pearls. Each piece, whether it is a necklace with matching earrings, a ring, or a bracelet is a one-of-a-kind piece.
He has spent 7 years making jewelry, studying abroad for 3 years in Valencia, Spain at the Escuela de Arte y Oficios. He attended another art school, Arte del IMSS, in San Jerónimo, Mexico, before starting out on his career in designer jewelry. His favorite style is neo-Medieval.
An interesting fact about jewelry made in Colima: the clasps of necklaces and bracelets are shaped like a Colima hat, so be sure and ask to see one when you visit Maria Cumbé.
